TUPA vs paper and WhatsApp
Keep the tools your household already uses. Compare where pet records, dates and access live, then decide whether one shared pet profile would help.
| What to compare | TUPA | paper and WhatsApp |
|---|---|---|
| Finding a record | Open the right pet's records and care history | Look in the folder or conversation where your household saved it |
| Care dates | Create a reminder attached to the pet and check its status | Keep dates in a diary or calendar; use messages to coordinate |
| Sharing care | Invite a viewer or editor to the pet's Care Circle and remove access later | Send the details to a chat. Copies already sent remain with the recipient |
| More than one species | Separate profiles, weight histories and care dates for each pet | Use your own folders, labels or chats to keep each pet's information apart |
| Getting everyone involved | Each carer needs a TUPA account. Start with one pet and one useful care job | People can keep using tools they already know. There is no new app to learn |
| Cost | Free for one active pet; see current monthly plans for more pets and premium tools | Use the paper and messaging tools you already have; any costs depend on those tools |

Before you get started
Will my family or pet sitter need their own account?
Yes. Invite them to the pet's Care Circle and they accept with their own TUPA account. They can use the web, iPhone or Android app. Start with one pet and the information they actually need; you do not have to move every note at once.
Do we have to stop using WhatsApp or our calendar?
No. Try TUPA for one pet's records or a shared care reminder first. Your family can keep chatting and using a calendar. TUPA is useful when you want the pet's information together, rather than copied across conversations.
